Report: Cuomo to be deposed by AG's investigators on Saturday

ALBANY, N.Y. — Gov. Andrew Cuomo will be interviewed on Saturday as part of state Attorney General Tish James’ investigation into various allegations against him, according to a report from the New York Times.

The interview will take place in Albany and will be conducted by attorneys Joon Kim and Anne Clark, who have been hired by James to lead the probe.

Attempts to reach the governor’s office were not immediately successful, but senior adviser Rich Azzopardi told the Times that “the continued leaks are more evidence of the transparent political motivation of the attorney general’s review.” Both Cuomo and James are Democrats.

James received a referral from Cuomo, allowing her to open an investigation, following sexual harassment accusations made against him earlier this year. Her probe has since expanded to include other allegations, such as the possible use of state resources to draft his 2020 book on the pandemic.

Cuomo is serving his third term as New York's chief executive. He is up for reelection next year.
